Fraser River Sediment Sampling

On behalf of Metro Vancouver, ENKON conducted the third cycle Fraser River ambient sediment monitoring program in April 2016.  The study entailed sediment collection and preparation of composite samples at eight sites.  Samples were analyzed for bacteria, conventional parameters, AVS/SEM, various trace organics, stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes, and toxicity testing.  Samples from two estuarine sites (Ewen Slough and McDonald Slough) underwent additional testing (e.g. pharmaceuticals and personal care products, microplastics) as part of the Pollution Tracker Program.  ENKON prepared the project report, which included comparison with environmental objectives and guidelines and identification of spatial and temporal trends.
