ENKON ENVIRONMENTAL

On behalf of the City of Abbotsford, ENKON Environmental Limited (ENKON) completed a fish habitat assessment within Downes Bowl Park in the North Clearbrook Neighbourhood of Abbotsford, BC.  The assessment was conducted to support mitigation planning for Downes Creek tributaries as part of an amendment application for the Bevan Avenue Wells Groundwater Supply Development Project.  ENKON conducted fish sampling, which showed that the Downes Bowl Park is productive habitat for rearing and potentially spawning for both coho salmon and cutthroat trout. ENKON recommended expansion of the environmental monitoring program as described in the OEMP to include at least three monitoring stations within Downes Bowl Park.  ENKON is presently conducting a 3 year aquatic, shallow groundwater, indicator plant, vegetation, and Oregon forest snail monitoring program.
