Environmental Rehabilitation: Creeks & Culverts

Burnaby BC 2018-2019

Byrne Creek Slump

The City of Burnaby is initiating a drainage improvement project at eight locations within the municipality.  The intent of the project is to alleviate erosion and flooding concerns, enhance aquatic habitat and fish passage, improve stormwater conveyance and stormwater quality and address safety concerns near watercourses. Planned remediation projects include culvert rehabilitations, channel stabilization and/or detention pond or raingarden installations.  ENKON was retained by Urban Systems to conduct an environmental assessment at each project location to identify environmental concerns to be considered in project design and construction and identify municipal, provincial and federal regulatory requirements/considerations related to instream and near-stream construction.
