ENKON ENVIRONMENTAL

The City of Langley replaced a two-lane bridge over the Nicomekl River through a design-build contract.  ENKON was the Owners Environmental Consultant for the project.  ENKON worked with the Owners Engineer to evaluate alignment options and select a reference concept design.  We assessed impacts, developed conceptual habitat compensation and acquired CEAA approval for the project.  During detailed design we reviewed the design-build contractor’s habitat compensation design.  We audited construction activities and habitat compensation for compliance with the CEAA commitments.  ENKON advised the City regarding acceptability of the construction and monitored the success of remedial environmental works required of the contractor.  ENKON also assessed and obtained approvals for project add-ons (sidewalk construction on the Langley By-pass).
