Receiving Environment Sampling At Combined Sewer Overflow Outfalls
Balaclava, Cassiar, & Manitoba CSO Receiving Environment Monitoring 2014-2015
On behalf of Metro Vancouver, ENKON conducted sediment and benthic invertebrate sampling at the Balaclava and Cassiar CSO outfalls on Burrard Inlet in January 2015 and at the Manitoba CSO outfall on the Fraser River in December 2014. The purpose of the study was to characterize the effects of the CSO discharges on sediment quality and biota. Data analysis included comparison of sediment quality with environmental objectives and guidelines and comparison of benthic invertebrate community structure with sediment quality and toxicity test results.
