ENKON ENVIRONMENTAL

On behalf of the City of Coquitlam, ENKON assessed a tree stand of approximately 30 trees located on the west bank of Burke Mountain Creek immediately south of David Avenue.  Results of the assessment indicated decay in key windfirm trees along the west, east and north windfirm edges, necessitating windfirm edge tree removals due to an elevated probability of failure and potential for damage to adjacent residential development.  Removal of these key windfirm edge trees was expected to expose the remaining even-aged high density hemlock stand to increased wind loading from both the south-east and the west.  As a result, ENKON recommended the removal or wildlifing of 16 trees.
